Opened in January 2001, Talega Golf Club lies 30 minutes north of San Diego in the coastal valleys of San Clemente. A co-design of 1992 Masters Champion and PGA Tour star, Fred Couples, and architect Brian Curley of Schmidt-Curley Design, Inc., the 18-hole, par-72 daily-fee facility offers a unique look and feel for a Southern California course.
The layout, was nominated as a “Best New Public Course in 2001” by Golf Digest, features 208 acres of manicured fairways and greens, and involves an oak-forested canyon, a series of lakes and views of lush hillsides. Along with its considerable aesthetics, Talega is washed by cooling breezes off the Pacific Ocean, located just a few minutes away.
